Calphalon Unison Nonstick 8-Piece Cookware Set

Best cooking investment that I have made, (What's this?) I cook dinner almost every night with the Calphalon set that I bought two years ago, and the performance and quality are incredible. Throughout college I went through so many low cost sets that flaked off teflon (despite using nylon utensils in them and hand washing) and am so happy that I made the switch. Pay a little bit more to get a great cooking set that will perform well for years to come and put money into domestic manufacturing (made in Ohio!) rather than overseas.

  • Eligible for Calphalon ReNew
  • Lifetime Warranty
  • 100% Dishwasher safe. Oven safe to 500°F / 260°C.
  • 8 inch & 10 inch omelette pans, 3 quart sauce pan with covers, 4 quart saute pan with covers and 8 quart stock pot with covers

American Kitchen 10-Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set

excellent American made product, (What's this?) I carefully researched cookware for my new induction cooktop stove. This set is attractive, reasonably priced, sturdy, works great on any stove, and is American made. I have had no problems whatsoever with this set, and highly recommend it.
Made in the USA!, (What's this?) With all the research on bad gases coming off of Teflon, and the Aluminum getting in my food,i decided to find better cookware.Seems Stainless Steel,or Cast Iron are the best choices.Stainless Steel being the easiest to maintain,i searched all the stores that carry cookware.Everything was made in China, and a set was $199.I don't trust China's products, and wanted to keep people in the USA working,so ordered a set of Stainless Steel cookware from American Kitchen (regalware.com),made in the USA.They cost $169.,and were delivered to my house within five days. The set included two frying pans with a coating on them, but this coating doesn't give off the bad gasses. From what i've read on many sights, this cookware is top of the line, and very healthy to use.Best choice i've made in a long time.
Very happy with this set, (What's this?) Pots and pans are good sizes and are very easy to clean so far. The two non-stick pans are non-toxic and don't scratch and are super easy to clean up.
    GREAT STUFF!, (What's this?)
American Kitchen 10 piece cookware set, As we searched for a new cookware set, we were looking for a set that was compatible with our new induction cooktop plus we wanted to buy American. American Kitchen was a perfect choice, quality cookware, simple design, and some pans/pots even have the interior capacity marks which are very helpful. I like the clear glass lids so there is no need to let the steam out to check on cooking progress, the set is easy to keep clean and if there is a discoloration or a stain, a steel wool pad or Bar Keepers Friend keeps the set looking brand new. I don't have an issue with food sticking as medium heat settings are used with the non-stick pans, higher settings can be used with the stainless steel pieces however best results are generally acheived with medium/med high heat.
Made in USA and wonderful!!!!! Cooks evenly and cleans up like a dream., (What's this?) I bought these as a gift and they are wonderful!!! She has prepared meals and brought them to our house and these clean up so easily! And, they are made in the USA so we don't have to wonder what chemical we're exposed to eating!!!! These are great and I highly recommend them.
Excellent cookware, and made in the USA, (What's this?) I love this cookware, easy to clean, easy to use. The heat that you use is cut in half with the materials used in the construction of this product. I have and would rcomend this cookware set to anyone.
Made in the USA, Hooray!, (What's this?) I love this cookware. It heats up evenly and quickly, and cleans up nicely with Barkeepers Friend (I don't put mine in the dishwasher to keep the finish looking nice). A major selling point for me was that it's American-made, and I think all of us need to do whatever we can to preserve American jobs, and the quality of USA products is FAR superior to the cheap imports that all the stores are carrying now.
Excellent cookware, (What's this?) This is the third set of this cookware I've bought - each of my grown children received a set when they moved out on their own. It can't be beat for quality! The frying pans alone are worth the price - I use them daily and they have never scratched.

The aluminum surface is beautiful - but it must be cared for. A bottle of Barkeepers Friend will take care of the set for months. If you're buying this as a gift, put a bottle in the box.

Yes, you can pay more. Go ahead. See if I care. But this is a quality cookware set made in the USA and it will last a lifetime.
Cook with them all the time., (What's this?) These are the first stainless steel pans I have ever owned. And I do use extra virgin olive oil to cook with because I try to keep them from getting burned due to sticking food, but it still takes some getting used to if someone is switching from using non-stick like myself. I like that this set does include 2 non-stick that I can go to and not have to worry as much about burning food. Because of the stainless steel, I have been using bamboo utensils, which I like, and do not scratch the pans.
Overall, the pans cook very evenly and I am very happy with my purchase.

Prior to these pans, I used cheaper non-stick and I can really tell the difference with all the pans, especially the non-stick. The coating does not come off easily and my food tastes better and cooks better than it did before. The only thing I would be careful of is using metal utensils because the stainless pans scratch very easily, and I did make that mistake initially. But since I switched to using mostly bamboo and carefully using some metal utensils, I am good to go.

For washing, I just soak them in a little soap and water and any stuck on food usually comes right up.

Stansport Cast Iron 6 Piece Cookware Set

Excellent purchase, (What's this?) These are my first cast iron pans so I don't have anything to compare them to but I love them. I've used the frying pans most often and the dutch oven only once so far since buying this package a few months ago. I think they were pre-seasoned but the two frying pans did stick a bit on the first few uses. I've seasoned them a couple times on my own which really improved the non-stick surface. The combination of items in this package is really amazing. Everything you need and good quality for such a cheap price.

The one complaint that I have (4 stars instead of 5) is that I'm not so sure about the heat conductivity. I have a burner on my stove that is out in one spot, which is always a problem when cooking. I thought this shouldn't be a factor for cast iron because every inch of the pan should distribute heat evenly but I've still have this problem with both of the cast iron frying pans.
Best Set of Cast Iron Pans Ever !!, (What's this?) Love this set of Cast Iron Pan set , I went on youtube to learn how to season each piece.
Bought this set for my daughter-Inlaw and now that I see it i want a set of my own ...

Great deal just big enough for 1 person or 2 or 3 at most. it's a small set and just
right for me as I freeze left overs .....best of all is the flavor of the food and once
it is seasoned it"s non stick surface is great .......A must have .........
made in china, (What's this?) I didn't see anywhere that this was made in china before I ordered it or I would not have ordered it.
Stansport Cast Iron Cookware Set, (What's this?) This was a gift for our daughter, and she is THRILLED with it. Thank you so much for selling this set of cookware.
Dang right., This is one of the few purchases that I feel really was worth it's online time!! I thought i was going to have isssues with the lid on the dutch oven due to the rounded top, but the lid, inverted serves both as a drip back and a coal holder...awesome!!Add the free shipping and presto mundo....
false advertising, (What's this?) One of the items listed in this set is a 5 quart chicken fryer. This chicken fryer is not large enough to hold a chicken and in fact only holds 2.5 quarts. This is decieving and wrong. I measured the volume with water and rust appeared in the fryer and dutch oven after I measured them. The seasoning was not complete. The handles are very short also. I now understand why the set appeared to be a good value. It's a good price, but you don't get what you think you're getting. I'm going back to Old Mountain cookware.
Preseasoning not great, (What's this?) I was disappointed in the preseasoning of the cookwear. The skillet was hardly seasoned at all and everything sticks. The lid rusted in several places after cleaning it with just water and setting it out to dry.

I think I may have to reseason some item right away. Since preseasoned cast iron cookwear costs more than unseasoned, I fell this is overpriced and the preseasoning is of poor quality.
Good Value, (What's this?) I was really impressed with these. I loved the easy clean and the way they cook. More expensive pots and pans have a certain evenness in the heat when cooking. The metal core of the pan/pot dissipates the heat evenly. I've bought cheap pans that will have certain areas of the pan that burn food while other areas do not get hot. These work just as good as expensive copper core pots/pans at a bargain price. My only beef was that the must have been sitting a for a long time in some dirty warehouse. They arrived pretty dirty. Not a biggie though. I cleaned and seasoned them.
    cast cast cast, (What's this?)
Not great - but not bad. But made in China, I put "cast iron cookware" on my Christmas list last year, and my husband got me this. First off, it's not very smooth, even after a year of continual use. I very carefully clean and re-season my cast iron after each use. Still, if I rub a paper towel over any of it, I'll have little bits of lint stuck all over it. My two Lodge pieces, which are newer, don't do that - they're much smoother. Also, this stuff is made in China. That doesn't sit well with me (I frankly can't believe my husband got me China stuff when we're trying so hard to get rid of chemicals and questionable items like this, but there you have it). Until someone can tell me that there is 100% absolutely no lead or other crap in there that the Chinese don't seem to mind tossing into things to make a buck or two, I'll always wonder. I'm slowly replacing all my Stansport stuff with Lodge for the above reasons. So I basically gave this stuff three stars because it holds my food well as I'm cooking. My two Lodge pieces are different sizes than the ones in this set and I use them whenever I can. I'll slowly switch out all these pieces too. And no, I don't work for Lodge. I happen to own the two brands and I like Lodge better for the aforementioned reasons.

Simply Calphalon Nonstick Hard-Anodized 14-Piece Cookware Set

these are getting returned today, i registered for these after reading reviews (everywhere but amazon or i would have thought twice) and seeing them at bed bath and beyond. i liked that they were not too heavy, nonstick, hard anodized and i thought the calphalon name was a good one. i got the set and 3 pieces had already been slightly damaged due to the packaging rubbing too hard against the non stick surface. i didn't think it looked too bad though and decided to keep them. storage was a whole other problem. i don't have a pot rack and used to keep my old set nested inside each other in the drawer under my stove. since the finish will get scratched if they rub against each other i had to completely reorganize my cabinets so i could find space for all of the pieces. i ended up nesting them anyway but have to keep an old dish towel between each piece so nothing touches. about a week after getting them i made pasta in one of the pots. i added some basil, oil, red pepper flakes and garlic salt and stirred it (with a wooden spoon) around until i heard and felt it scratch. i dumped out the pasta and there was a 3 inch scratch from the garlic salt i guess. so that did it for me. i know you are supposed to be careful with the nonstick finish and i am. i have all silicone, nylon or wooden utensils. i clean them properly. but it is too much of a hassle now worrying the food will scratch it too. i am returning this set today and buying a stainless steel set.
What Was I Thinking!, (What's this?) The main purpose of non-stick cookware is easy cleaning. That purpose is totally defeated in this cookware because the nonstick interior is interrupted by the aluminumin rivets with which the handles are attached - food sticks to them, and around them. I am soooo sorry I bought this!! I was replacing 20-year old T-Fal that was simply worn out. I should have stuck with T-Fal (bad pun intended).
I Think They're Fine, We have been using these approximately six months now, so I thought it was time for a review. I cook pretty much every day, so this set has received a lot of use. So far, it's holding up nicely. I did go and buy a few special silicone-coated utensils to use (silicone-coated whisk, silicone-tipped tongs, a silicone turner, and a silicone-coated ladle) for when I would really be "getting down in there" and scraping against the pan pretty hard. If I am just stirring some vegetables or something, I use a wooden or nylon utensils, no problems so far. The only pan that has shown any wear on the nonstick surface is the frying pan, which my husband uses pretty much every day to fry bacon and cook eggs, and I think he doesn't always use the silicone stuff but just grabs whatever is handy. We don't put them in the dishwasher, but it's honestly not that big of a deal...I rarely use more than two pots and pans at a time (occassionally three), and I would think unless you're a gourmet chef, you wouldn't, either. I have also put a couple of them in the oven, although not at 400 degrees yet, which is their top rating, but haven't had any issues with the handles bubbling or anything like that (which was my main concern). They hold heat very well, so when I first got them I had to adjust to cooking stuff on medium-high heat vs. high, which tended to make the pots too hot and burn stuff. All in all, we're satisfied. There are nicer pans out there, I'm sure, but they also cost $500 and up for a comparable set.
    simply calphalon, simply wow,
Either save your money and buy a cheaper set or spend more and get something better, I was given this set a year and a half ago and so far have had to send back three pieces because of the nonstick finish. I will say I like cooking with the anodized - it heats faster and retains heat well so it is easier to cook with. But the nonstick finish they put on this cookware is terrible. It flakes off and scratches easily. I baby them, follow all directions, etc. only use silicone or wood utensils. In my opinion the surface should not scratch if you are using an approved utensil. Calphalon has been good about honoring their warranty and have replaced everything I sent back so far but I am getting tired of having to keep sending things back. As money permits I am gradually replacing mine with Le Creuset. I don't know if the higher end Calphalon is better, but I can't bring myself to spend the money on it with the experience I've had with this set.
SIMPLY CALPHALON...SIMPLY THE BEST!, (What's this?) I won't even take up much time when I say...BUY BUY BUY! Fast shipping, food tastes great, preparation a breeze, no need to turn your burners up high.....sexy and sleek look! Bought 2 sets....
Best Pots to have, (What's this?) These pots are easy to care for but not dishwasher safe so remember that they are great on any stove. I use propane and they cook quickly and evenly. I would purchase more of these. The soup pot needs to be a little bigger but you can purchase that seperately.
Excellent Choice in Non-Stick, (What's this?) I've had nothing but excellent results and experiences with this cookware. For the money, I think it's the best you can get. I may use silicone & wood utensils to cook with, and the blue scotchbrite pads to clean them, but I sure as heck don't baby them, and I don't put anything between them when storing. I honestly don't know what some of these other reviewers are talking about. I've had no difficulty cleaning around the rivets, either, and I don't make any superhuman efforts to do so. I've had this set (plus additional pieces in the Simply Calphalon line) for almost a year, use them everyday, and I love 'em to pieces.

*Update - January 1, 2012: Still in use, still doing a great job. So much so, that I've added additional open-stock pieces.

KitchenAid Gourmet Essentials 10-Piece Hard-Base Porcelain Aluminum Nonstick Cookware Set, Red

    Wonderful!!!, (What's this?)
These pans have worked out perfect for me so far..., (What's this?) I love them, easy to clean, seem to cook evenly and don't stick...ah the best part. The price was amazing...no complaints here.
doesn't live up to the KitchenAid brand name, The non stick coating on my set was wore down after only 3 years. I wish I had kept the paperwork, I would be getting them replaced right now. Instead, I think I will go with another brand for my cookware. All of my other KitchenAid items have been better than great, so I am very dissappointed with my set of pans.
Pots and Pans, (What's this?) Love the color. Very nice to cook with also. Great deal!!
Very Pleased with this set, (What's this?) I spent a lot of time reviewing, researching and reading about different pots and pans sets, prices, etc.. before choosing these Kitchen Aid products. I bought the griddle in addition to this 10 piece set.

I of course Love the color.. really wanted red this time around and these are a beautiful deep red.. I like the coating/annodized interior and will admit I coddle and baby these.. am determined to keep them nice and healthy for a long time. They clean like a breeze and heat up timely, not too fast or too slow. I really like the rubber grip handles and the stainless steel lids- my previous set had glass lids and I never really liked them much. I'm quite satisfied and feel I made a very good purchase, these have a nice solid weight to them, they clean up well and they're attractive hanging from my pot rack.

Although I've had them only about a month, I do use them 2-3 times a day- so they've been put through enough of a work out for me to feel confident in my review. Just remember to use silicon/wooden utensils in them, hand wash, etc.
pots & pans, (What's this?) They are fine for the price. We have used them in the past and do need to replace the frying pans every few years.
Kitchenaid fan, (What's this?) I love the kitchenaid pots and pans set. I originally bought a red set about 10 yrs ago and needed to finally replace them. I absolutely loved the first set so figured it would be a great idea to buy another set. The non stick is great and the pans cook wonderful. I love taht they are heavy duty and not the flimsy cheap style. The price is also very reasonable. I would have given it a 5 star however I gave it a 4 since one of the pans isn't as big anymore. Also I looked everywhere for the metal lids to this set and supposedly these ones were but when we recieved them they were glass. I have a 1 1/2 yr old and the only place for us to store the lids are down low and we were really concerned with them getting broken and him getting hurt. I have read other reviews that state the glass lids are not as sturdy as stated. I would strongly suggest to anyone who is looking for this set with metal lids to make sure that they are in fact metal and not glass. The picture shows metal and the description shows nothing, again I recieved glass. You can usually call the provider and ask,I would do so. Amazon was however great about offering several solutions to this mix up so I highly recommend with buying from them. They allowed me to keep the lids and discounted my original price 20%. We decided to use our original metal lids from our prior set for the saftey of our little guy. Due to the great quality after 10 yrs of use they are still in great shape! We are going to use 2 of the big glass lids so that all of our pots and pans have lids but will be keeping them in a safe place.
Items Do NOT Match Description, (What's this?) I let the box sit for a while before I opened it because I didn't need to use it immediately and the box was so over-packaged that it was going to take some effort to get it open. When I did get around to opening the box, I could have screamed! The main thing I bought this set for is the 4 1/4 quart covered saute pan. I have a similar set that has worn out and I especially wanted to replace this pan with the same size because I use it almost every day. Amazon was the only place I found this size pan. WRONG! The item in the set I received from Amazon that is the closest in size is only *2 quart*. It's freaking tiny compared to what I ordered, what the description says on Amazon.
Additionally, the lids are glass, not metal as shown on the photo.
Something is very wrong here! I suspect it's the manufacturer's fault but Amazon's responsible because they're selling it. WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD WITH AMAZON!

I'll update this after I see how Amazon handles this.
Misleading, (What's this?) I am just SO DISAPPOINTED! I wanted to get a 12" KitchenAid skillet to replace the one I have.. it looked like this set included it...
Kitchenaid has gone downhill, I realize we're all supposed to think Kitchenaid is the very, very best....and it isn't. My set of this cookware looks dreadful after a couple of years, and started looking that way soon after I got it. The outsides are discolored and pitted, the edges worn off, and the nonstick coating is....not nonstick. We are careful with our expensive cookware, but I wouldn't buy Kitchenaid again. It seems to me that they are making more and more tacky, cheap things, as in the plastic measuring cups I purchased, most of which handles have broken off, rendering them unusable. I don't think I'll be buying much Kitchenaid in the future. Will stick with my Farberware and Circulon pans, all of which are still going strong.
